Description
Benin, a narrow, key-shaped, north-south strip of land in West Africa, lies between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer. In Benin there are two types of land use: the land dedicated to intensive agriculture and land dominated by forests. Mostly dominated by intensive agriculture (Benin is highly dependent on agriculture). In Benin there are two areas designated as biosphere reserves: Pendjari (1986) and "W"Region (2002).
