The Middle East is a region that encompasses Western Asia and North Africa. It is often used as a synonym for Near East, in opposition to Far East. The corresponding adjective is Middle-Eastern and the derived noun is Middle-Easterner. The term 'Middle East' serves to name a geographical area, but has no precise boundaries. The most common definition includes: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and the territories controlled by the Authority Palestinian (Gaza Strip and some West Bank).
