Digital cartography project

Netmaps announces the launch of a project for immediate application on the company’s digital cartography, including the series of urban maps of the 60 main cities of Spain, using WAP technology, among others. WAP technology has an immediate application in territorial location issues, mainly in urban areas. The brevity of the messages requires an aesthetic digital cartography, the main basis of Netmaps’ product, and georeferenced with GPS coordinates. We hope that WAP technology will reach its peak in the next two years, although our company already wants to position itself as a leading provider of base city cartography, just as it currently is in the publishing and internet world. The main advantage of our maps and plans is that they are vectorial, digital cartography with a strong aesthetic component, object-oriented, with a manifest interest in detail and the local (see www.mapasguias.com) and with ample referencing options. As in other projects, Netmaps exclusively bets on creating a base cartographic product adapted to the market, leaving the direct marketing and programming part to companies in the sector, telecommunications in this case.
